One Dead, Six Injured as Car Returning From Ceremony Overturns in Sitapur
A car returning from a tilak ceremony overturned in Sitapur’s Sidhouli area, killing one middle-aged man and injuring six others. Four victims are in critical condition and have been referred to a higher medical centre. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the late-night crash.
Police said the victims were travelling back after attending the pre-wedding ritual when the driver allegedly lost control under unknown circumstances, causing the vehicle to flip on the road. Emergency responders rushed the injured to a nearby facility where doctors referred four of them to a higher medical centre due to their critical condition.
Officers from the Sidhouli police station reached the spot soon after receiving information and initiated necessary procedures. Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the precise cause of the accident, examining whether speeding, fatigue, or mechanical failure may have played a role.
The fatal crash has once again underscored the persistent dangers on regional roads, particularly during late-night travel after social gatherings. Police urged motorists to exercise caution during long return journeys, emphasising that adherence to traffic rules remains crucial to preventing such tragedies.
