'Avenged April 22 Pahalgam attack in 22 minutes, called out Pakistan's nuclear bluff': PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the India Armed Forces avenged the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in 22 minutes with its Operation Sindoor by attacking terror launch pads in Pakistan and by calling out Islamabad's nuclear bluff. "In just 22 minutes, Indian forces delivered a precise and calculated strike, avenging the April 22 attack with clear and focused objectives," PM Modi said.

He also said that the military was given a free hand to make their own decisions when the conflict with Pakistan escalated in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor on May 7.

"Following the Pahalgam attack, the Pakistani military braced for a strong Indian retaliation, even going so far as to issue nuclear threats However, on May 6 and 7, India carried out a swift and decisive response, leaving Pakistan unable to react," he said.
The Prime Minister said that after April 22nd, he made a public commitment to ensure that the terrorists would be eradicated. I also declared that their handlers would be held accountable and face consequences.
PM Modi's attack on Congress
The Prime Minister also traded barbs at the Congress following remarks by senior leader P Chidambaram, who earlier questioned the government's claim that the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 people, most of them civilians, were from Pakistan and that the assault was planned by Pakistan’s deep state.
His remarks also came in response to a fiery speech delivered moments earlier by Rahul Gandhi, who accused the government of surrendering India's foreign policy to the United States. Gandhi cited former US President Donald Trump’s claims of brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan as evidence.
Addressing Parliament, the Prime Minister said, "Much has been said about foreign policy and the global support India received after Pahalgam and Operation Sindoor... but the reality is that no country in the world tried to stop India from acting in self-defence. Out of 193 nations, only three stood with Pakistan.”
He added, “India had the backing of the entire world — not a single global leader told us to hold back. Yet, it is deeply unfortunate that the Congress could not stand behind the courage and sacrifice of our soldiers."
He also took aim at the opposition for, in his words, “looking for politics in the deaths of innocent civilians in the Pahalgam attack” and for targeting him personally.
